COVID-19 Response

COVID-19 Update and Resources

College is an incredible time in a young person’s life. Students love living on campus, hanging with friends, and creating their community. This year has made that so hard, but Hillel continues to be here for our students, helping them build community and navigate through these strange and ever changing times.

At Central Florida Hillel, we are working hard to ensure that everything we do is with the safety of students, their friends and families, and our staff in mind. Here's how we are handling programs during this pandemic:

  • All programs, meetings and gatherings are taking place outside (in an 1800 sq. ft. tent without walls)

  • Events are set up to allow students to be social distant, and staff are on hand with gentle reminders when students get too close

  • All food is individually pre-packaged and handed directly to students by staff members with masks and gloves

  • Masks are worn at all times (except while eating)

  • Hand sanitizer is plentiful

  • Meals are regularly delivered to students who have tested positive for Covid

  • Pick up available for all meals for students who aren't comfortable being in groups

  • Partnership with JFS Orlando which makes counseling services available to UCF students

Since the beginning of this pandemic, Central Florida Hillel has engaged hundreds of students through one on one conversations and both live and virtual programming. We continue to work with students to develop leadership skills through programming and advocacy. Our students know that in a time where it feels like there is no where to go, there is always a home at Central Florida Hillel.
